Choose the preload so that after climbing on the vehicle the struts are about 1-2cm immersed. This is the so-called negative spring travel. If the negative spring travel is reduced by too much pretension, the vehicle starts to jump and move on uneven ground. Increase the preload at higher loads (permanent two-man operation, lots of luggage, etc.) compared to solo operation. This achieves maximum driving comfort and safety.
