The exact braking point, combined with an enormous transfer of power, can stop any Vespa (safely) in its tracks! With the inclusion of a brake master cylinder on the steering assembly and a suitable brake hose the semi-hydraulic GRIMECA front disc brake can be converted to a more effective fully-hydraulic system.The steering assembly on some models will require modification to enable the fitting of a suitable brake pump bracket.The handlebar tube mounting bracket available from SCOOTRS nicely integrates the brake master cylinder with a tube fitting such as the GRIMECA Ø 11mm. The steering assembly will still require slight modification but no welding is necessary. These items are constructed using die-cast aluminium. The MMW version allows the brake master cylinder of the Vespa '98/MY/'11 - formerly produced by GRIMECA, now by HENGTONG – to be retro-fitted to numerous drum braked Vespa models. Their product is made of stainless steel and is relatively easy to mount.The SERIE PRO version is produced by MAMO from mdemphasis in Vincenza, Italy. He has developed a stainless steel bracket that can be mounted to the steering assembly without any modification necessary before fitting. To enable an ideal power delivery, combined with an elegant appearance, a suitable handlebar lever is included with this conversion kit.This aluminium brake-pump holder from the SERIE PRO range cannot, unlike other versions, be bolted to the steering assembly. This type requires the original brake lever attachments to be removed to enable this component to be firmly welded in place. We recommend that the steering assembly first be repainted following the welding! TOP-TIP : Do not forget to order a suitable brake master cylinder such as the one produced by GRIMECA , or the type fitted to the Vespa PX '98. A new brake hose and the suitable hydraulic fluid round the job off perfectly!
