Due to the definitional frame design with engines mounted at the rear, this inevitably makes these items quite long. To ensure complete control they should be in perfect working order! Clutch plates, brake pads and brake shoes wear during operation, the length of control cables can vary once they have settled following initial use. These factors affect the mechanical play at the handlebar levers and foot pedal, which control the essential function of the clutch and brakes. To counter this adjuster screws are located at the component-end of these cables, allowing convenient adjustment of their operative length. Over time these adjustment screws also wear, break, corrode or are deformed by contamination or mechanical brutality. Whatever the damage, they all require immediate replacement. To facilitate this we now have all common types and sizes (plus a few more besides!) available, making it again possible to perfectly replace and set up the control cables found on all vintage scooters. This not only increases safety, but also restores full control over the operation and functions of the scooter. Important: Always check and ensure the inclusion of the correct lock-nut for each adjuster screw as not all suppliers include these essential items! The adjuster screwsAll Vespa models are factory-equipped with a variety of different adjuster screws, which can have different threads, lengths, diameters and spanner-sizes, etc. Many were only available including small deviances and compromises from the OE specifications, such as the original 30mm clutch cable adjuster screw being replaced by a 20mm version.
