Richard Matheson‘s amazing 1954 novel “I am Legend” has been adapted to the silver screen multiple times over the years. However, I have a soft spot for the very first version with Vincent Price’s take on “The Last Man on Earth.” Matheson’s novel would be remade again as “The Omega Man” in the 1970s with Charleston Heston and eventually as “I am Legend” with Will Smith in the aughts. The story is incredible so it’s not surprising screenwriters keep coming back to it. After a deadly pandemic has ravaged the population, the few survivors have mutated into some sort of vampire-like creatures. But there’s a twist of course — I am legend indeed! This “Last Man on Earth” UK quad poster has a unique design not found in any other country. It features a wonderful keyline art design set against bold reds and purples. In addition to featuring an awesome pop-art aesthetic, the quad also happens to be crazy rare. This is only the second copy I’ve seen surface in more than a decade! NOTE: Props for the tag-line calling out gender inclusivity of the audience! Points removed for blatant female victimization along the bottom. One step forward, two steps back!
