Get ready for a head trip! Ghost in the Shell is an amazing, dystopian vision of the future–one where a matrix-like network connects humanity and permeates every aspect of our lives. Riding a wave of influential, adult-themed anime films (including Belladonna of Sadness and Akira), Ghost in the Shell was made in the mid-90s when our future entanglement with computers was still being explored–now it could very well be a PSA for mobile phones and social media! Kidding aside, the movie was and remains a breath of fresh air for the sci-fi genre and further boosted the standing of anime in the world of serious filmmaking. This country-of-origin soundtrack style Japanese B2 is incredibly rare — the only example I’ve ever come across. It features unique Masanori art not found on any other posters to my knowledge. Ghost in the Shell was remade in 2017 with Scarlett Johansson so expect interest in the original to only increase!
