The Marine Band Soloist, note and hole-wise, is laid out in the same configuration as a 12-hole chromatic harmonica in C (but of course, without the button for the sharp notes). This 12 hole diatonic will allow you to play three complete “C”Major Scales. This harmonica is handy for blues players who like the 3rd Position style chromatic playing of Little Walter, but do not own or want to buy a chromatic harmoncia.
