It is also slightly more rounded at the front than the later bench seats of the PX Lusso models. The seat benches are interchangeable on all PX models. So a bench seat from 1977 still fits a PX from the 2016 model year and vice versa.The bench seat frame is, as in the previous models Rally/Sprint, made of steel with spring core. The cover is only fixed to the frame with galvanized steel clips. Therefore, a refurbishment of the seat is no problem even for not so experienced screwdrivers.The seat cover includes all parts needed for assembly:Seat coverPillion holder strap incl. screwsSpring clips for mountingScrews for lettering supportThe pillion holder strap is an equipment feature of the Italian vehicles. In Germany the PX models were already delivered with sizius holder strap made of chromed steel. The seat cover can be combined with either the retaining strap or the handle.We also recommend replacing the foam molding inserted under the seat cover. Over the years this ages and often dissolves into small crumbs. Of course, we also carry the foam in our product range (see accessories).TIP: The seat cover comes with screws for the seat belt with Phillips head. For a true-to-the-original restoration, we naturally also carry the matching original slotted screwsWhen you discover that rare gem of an old VESPA pulled from the back of somebodies shed, after many long years of neglect, the frame of the seat is usually still serviceable. The seats cover though, is normally well past its sell by date. A worn away seating surface and torn seams, even with the desire for a slightly used look, does not quite make the grade and should be replaced by a new one. For the sake of a few minutes work replacing the seat cover, the seat and consequently the whole scooter, is given a whole new, tidier look. If value for money has more priority than absolute authenticity then you can consider the range of aftermarket seat covers we have available. There are often only slight differences to the original products, such as the routing of some of the seams or the thickness of the beading. Several covers come complete with an elastic cord sewn into the edge seaming to help hold the cover in position over the frame of the seat.
